Evaluation of Immigration Policies

The project deepens the possibility of monitoring and evaluating the processes of integration of the foreign population and the role of integration policies in these processes. The project starts from a conceptual model that assumes that the integration of immigrants can be explained as a combined effect of individual characteristics, characteristics of the context and effects of institutional regulation.

This document:

• contains the recognition of evidence from literature and empirical surveys;
• provides a system of indicators compatible with what is envisaged at European level;
• sets out priorities for the development of integration policies; 
• analyse to what extent variations between territories appear to be attributable to different policies;
• suggests some initial indications for the further development of an evaluation system.
